Launchpad Multimedia: Our WORLD RENOWN Science Simulations are the best you can get.

It is always nice when you get to express your passion. Science education is certainly one of ours. Our science simulations and programs are used around the world to teach specific scientific concepts and thinking. We promote investigative and experimental science in engaging and rewarding learning environmets. These programs are targeted at high school and undergraduate university levels.

Below is a sample of our Science Porfolio. Currently available in Mac/Windows CD ROM or downloadable formats.

GENETICS: Patterns of Inheritance

Target: Secondary and Undergraduate Science Students
Purpose: Practical studies of Mendelian Genetics are not practical due to the extended time required to complete experiments. This simulation allows learners to explore the principles of inheritance by providing a virtual Mendelian laboratory. Choose from a wide variety of suggested experiments or design your own. The results of various crosses can be analysed or used in subsequent breeding experiments. Topics include self-pollination, monohybrid and dihybrid crosses. Models of inheritance range from simple cominant recessive models to co-dominant and partial dominance models

Balancing Chemical Equations (BCE)

Target: Secondary School and Undergraduate Science Students
Purpose: Chemical equations can be a difficult component to teach. BCE provides educators and excellent tool to allow student to construct and balance chemical equations using virtual models. This simulation includes a periodic table and valence activities, along with banks for chemical reactions and practice and formal tests.

Ethics Heart of Law

Forensics: Dealing with Evidence

Target: Secondary School, Undergraduate Students, General Interest
Purpose: This interactive, multimedia CD ROM provides a comprehensive look at the scientific and forensics techniques that are the basis of modern police investigations. Topics include fingerprinting, DNS analysis, ballistics, materials analysis, forgery and serology. Contnent is supported by investigations, activities and experimental suggestions suitable for the classroom.

Biosphere: Developing Ecosystems

Target: Upper Primary, Secondary School, Undergraduate Students, General Interest
Purpose: This open ended, simulation allows you to create your own virtual worlds and investigate the essential components of living ecosystems. Learners place strange, yet vaguely familiar creatures with the biosphere and observe their behaviour and interactions. These creatures possess characteristics including diet, breeding capacity, longevity, hunger and thirst. Use the Biosphere to explore a wide range of biological principles ranging from the water and carbon cycles to biological control and population pressures.

DNA: Molecule of Life

Target: Secondary School, Undergraduate Students
Purpose:
This interactive, multimedia CD ROM is a detailed, yet concise study of the structure and function of DNA. Through a mixture of animations and assessments, student learn the about the current scientific understanding of the biochemical nature of life. Topics include: Cellular basis of life, the Eukaryotic cell, the Structure of DNA, DNA replication, transcription and translation, along with gene mutation and disease..
