What makes effective instructional design?
With formal qualifications in education and science, over 20 years teaching experience in secondary and tertiary education, and 15 years developing multimedia based educational programs, Peter Weyand is internationally renown for his instructional design and e-learning programs. By developing engaging learning envrionments, that both reward and provide feedback to the llearner, Launchpad is able to develop highly effective learning enviroments that monitor, evaluate and report on the learner's progress.
Developing for Blackboard and Janisons Toolbox
Currently Peter Weyand is developing a range of materials for QUT for mplementation into Blackboard. These are primarily discrete learning modules that are delivered by the Blackboard learning system. Previously we have developed modules to be delivered by Janison's Toolbox for TAFE NSW.
Peter's expertise is in developing engaging and interactive learning modules with full reporting and learner audits.
Online Assessments
Launchpad develops innovative and effective assessment systems. open ended, simulation allows you to create your own virtual worlds and investigate the essential components of living ecosystems. Learners place strange, yet vaguely familiar creatures with the biosphere and observe their behaviour and interactions. These creatures possess characteristics including diet, breeding capacity, longevity, hunger and thirst. Use the Biosphere to explore a wide range of biological principles ranging from the water and carbon cycles to biological control and population pressures.
Effective use of Video
iVideo can be a very effective teaching tool if used properly. Launchpad has expertise in developing interactive assessment tools that utilise video. Our extensive range of interactive video tools allow the learner to click on people or objects within the video, link question, animations or other learing activities to video, sequence, llabel and arrange video as well as the linking of text to video.
